Central Bank of Kenya
The Central Bank of Kenya is a public institution established under Article 231 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Bank is responsible for formulating monetary policy to achieve and maintain price stability and issuing currency. 
Pursuant to the CBK Act, the Central Bank promotes financial stability through regulation, supervision and licensing of financial institutions under its mandate. The Bank also provides oversight of payment, clearing and settlement systems. All these efforts are geared towards fostering liquidity, solvency and proper functioning of the financial system. The Bank also formulates and implements foreign exchange policy and manages foreign exchange reserves. CBK is the banker for, adviser to, and fiscal agent of the Government.

Position: Nursing Officer (Senior Business Analyst 2) 

Job Purpose 

The role holder will be responsible providing high quality patient care in the staff clinic. He/ She will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical and related administrative tasks to support patient health and wellbeing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs evaluations, medical history review, symptom evaluation, to support diagnosis treatment planning.
  2. Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients.
  3. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and compliance with guidelines, standards, and protocols.
  4. Monitor vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient using nursing process.
  5. Ensure safe and clean working environment for staff, patients, and visitors by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from heath care and support personnel.
  6. Protect patients by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedure, and medical waste disposal.
  7. Observe and monitor patients, records significant conditions and reactions by charting in patient records and notifying supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  8. Prepare clinical equipment and aid clinicians during treatments and examinations of patients.
  9. Liaison person with external service providers e.g., hospitals, x-rays, doctors, and clinics as need arises.
  10. Guide, Counsel / advise clients on health matters.
  11. Promote good health and well-being through education and wellness programmes.
  12. Advocate on behalf of patients and make ethical decisions related to consent and confidentiality.
  13. Responsible for transportation of patients and ambulance services, patients hospital/home visits and emergency evacuation.
  14. Verification of invoices from external service providers for related services.
  15. Perform dental nursing and assist dentists in dental procedures.
  16. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the clinic budget and business plan.
  17. Adhere to the Bank policies, procedures, guidelines, and related standards
  18. Any other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications 

  1. Diploma in Registered nursing course (Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse) or an equivalent Degree qualification from a recognized institution.
  2. Member of the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  3. Must have current nursing practice license by the Nursing Council of Kenya

Work Experience 

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in nursing services in a busy nursing environment.

Knowledge & Experience In:
  1. Knowledge of Health laws and standard medical practices and procedures.
  2. Experience in providing medical services
  3. Experience in patient care
  4. Experience in preparing clinical/ nursing related reports.
  5. Counselling patients.
