Assistant Registered Clinical Officer (Ophthalmology) at KNH

Overview

The Hospital seeks to recruit dynamic, highly motivated, innovative and experienced individuals to fill the following vacant positions. 

ASSISTANT REGISTERED CLINICAL OFFICER, (OPHTHALMOLOGY) JOB GROUP – KNH 10 (1 POST, MWAI KIBAKI HOSPITAL, OTHAYA) 

Job Purpose 

An officer at this level will be responsible to a Senior Assistant Registered Clinical Officer (Ophthalmology) for effective provision of quality health care services in the Hospital. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

1. Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patients;
2. Offering specialized clinical services in Anaesthesia;
3. Guiding and counselling patients/clients and other staff on health issues;
4. Implementing community health care activities in liaison with other health care
5. workers;
6. Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skills.
7. Collecting and compiling clinical data;
8. Assessing, preparing and presenting medico-legal reports;
9. Liaising with other health care personnel for efficient delivery of patient care;
10. Teaching students undertaking training in the field;
11. Referring patient/ clients to appropriate clinics and specialities. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Higher Diploma in Ophthalmology or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Certificate of registration by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;
• Valid practicing licence from the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;
• Evidence in Proficiency in Computer Application.
