Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Health, registered under Legal Notice Number 4 of the State Corporations Act Cap  446. The Hospital seeks to engage qualified staff for the positions listed below. Applicants must demonstrate diligence, commitment and a positive attitude. 

Radiologist – Job Grade KUTRRH 5, Ref. V/FT/07/2024 (3 Positions) 

Job Purpose: The Radiologist at the Hospital plays a critical role in providing accurate diagnostic imaging services. This position exists to interpret medical images, guide patient treatment plans, and ensure the highest quality of radiology services. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Interpreting the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses.
• Communicating and discussing results and diagnoses with physicians.
• Suggesting most appropriate medical imaging techniques, when necessary.
• Informing patients about the medical imaging process.
• Performing or directing radiology staff to carry out image-guided, diagnostic procedures.
• Working with radiographers to perfect image quality.
• Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.
• Develop SOPs and policies for radiology department.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
2. Master’s degree in Medicine (MMed) in Radiology or equivalent specialization from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
3. Relevant work experience in a Radiology department.
4. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
5. Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
6. Recognition as a specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
7. Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
8. Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
9. Proficiency in computer applications.
10. Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
